Belt scales: A buyer’s guide.

A failed conveyer belt scale can bring your whole bulk handling operation grinding to a halt. So surely you need to opt for reliability above all else.

Your quarrying contract commits you to removing a certain quantity of rock, gravel or sand every single day. You have to hit these numbers – and be able to prove it. Your company is engaged to load cargo for rail or sea transport. Your job is to fill container after container, but you simply cannot risk overloading them. You’re working on a major demolition project and must meet specific targets for recycling building materials such as concrete and masonry. 

In all these scenarios, uninterrupted operating is vital. If you’re forced to halt your conveyer belts unexpectedly because of a breakdown, you’ll lose valuable production time or stall the passage of goods. Service levels will fall below what’s expected. You could even face a hefty fine for breach of contract or for safety failings. That’s why you need a conveyer belt scale you can rely on. A small but sophisticated piece of machinery, a belt scale is fitted to a conveyer belt to continuously measure the quantity of material being carried. The scale determines the amount of material by simultaneously weighing belt load and measuring belt speed. Design for durability

These features mean it can easily be fitted onto all conveyer types and sizes in stationary as well as mobile applications. As well as being more susceptible to damage, these arms are prone to losing contact with the belt in certain conditions.
